About

Firefighters in pink kit, standing with everyone affected by breast cancer.

About Us

The UK Pink Firefighters is a group of serving and retired firefighters who have come together to support people affected by breast cancer. We take part in runs, stair climbs, endurance events and community activities in bright pink fire kit to raise money, encourage early checks and promote screening. It is a simple idea with a serious purpose.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK. Around 55,000 people receive a diagnosis every year. More than 11,000 women and 85 men lose their lives annually. That means 32 families each day facing a loss that is often preventable. Early detection gives people the best chance of surviving, yet screening uptake has fallen below the NHS target. If our work prompts even one person to check themselves or attend their screening, then the effort is worthwhile.

We are able to do this with the support of MSA Bristol, HAIX UK and other partners who share our commitment. Their help allows us to show up safely and visibly, and it strengthens the impact of the message we are trying to spread.

At heart, we are firefighters. Our job has always been to protect people and support our communities. This project is an extension of that. We use our fitness, our time and our platforms to raise awareness, generate funding and offer solidarity to those living with breast cancer and the families around them.

What We Do

• Take part in organised races and physical challenges in pink fire kit
• Raise funds for breast cancer charities
• Promote early checking, screening and treatment
• Share information and lived experiences to encourage conversation
• Support individuals and families affected by breast cancer
• Bring both the fire service and the public together behind a shared cause

Why Pink

It starts conversations. It catches the eye. It gives people a reason to ask what we are doing, and once they ask, we can talk about screening, symptoms and support. It turns a difficult subject into something people feel able to discuss.

Our Partners

We are grateful to MSA Bristol, HAIX UK and others who help us do this work. Their backing strengthens our presence at events and helps us reach more people with an important message.

Get Involved

If you want to take part in an event, explore a partnership, support our fundraising or simply help share the message, we welcome it. Every bit of involvement helps.
