For Teresa, raising awareness around breast cancer means making it impossible to ignore. It is about normalising conversations around early detection, self checks, screening, and risk, not just once a year, but as part of everyday life. As firefighters, we are trusted to keep others safe, and Teresa believes that responsibility does not stop when the sirens do. Awareness, for her, is a promise to look after ourselves, our families, our teams, and everyone who looks to us for strength and reassurance.Teresa brings a strong focus on connection and community engagement. She is passionate about reaching people who may not normally see or hear from us, whether that is in schools, workplaces, local clubs, community events, or online. Comfortable on camera and creating short form content, she helps turn awareness into something genuine, relatable, and human. Her experience spans a wide range of charitable work. From organising a 24 hour marathon for 4Ed MND, to running annual Give a Gift campaigns for children spending Christmas in hospital, supporting charities such as James Hopkins Trust and The Pied Piper Appeal, completing challenges for The Firefighters Charity, and giving wellbeing talks to homeless veterans. Beyond the UK, she has also helped support communities in developing countries with access to clean water, food, medicine, and safe housing. What sets Teresa apart is her quiet determination. She does not need to be the loudest voice in the room to make an impact. She brings calm, empathy, organisation, and a genuine care for the people around her. She notices the small things, supports others to shine, and gets things done without fuss.
